RAM 1500 TRX: The Most Powerful Mass-Produced Truck in the World
702 horsepower comes from the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 making for some impressive stats, such as 0-60 miles-per-hour in 4.5 seconds. A quarter-mile is achievable in 12.9 seconds at 108 mph. All-New for 2021, the TRX features; 2-inch ride height increase over RAM 1500s, 11.8-inches of ground clearance, 15-inch front brakes, (largest in the segment), Goodyear Wrangler Territory 325/65/R18 All-Terrain 35-inch tires and New Baja drive mode calibrates four-wheel-drive and steering systems, stability control, paddle shifters and suspension for desert performance.
Launch Control
Standard on the 2021 RAM TRX is Launch Control with Launch Assist, which regulates engine rpm's as well as monitoring and managing tire slip. Speed sensors watch for wheel-hop and within milliseconds can modify engine torque to regain grip. Also on the TRX is Jump Detection, which identifies when the vehicle is airborne so it can quickly adjust damping rates, engine torque, gear selection, transfer case torque split, and more.
TRX Drive Modes
RAM 1500 TRX has 8 drive modes available to optimize performance in each situation. SPORT, SNOW, MUD/SAND, CUSTOM, ROCK, BAJA, and VALET. Sport Mode tightens suspension, as well as shortening shift times. Snow Mode splits the torque 45/55 as well as managing horsepower. Custom Mode enables the driver to select preferred steering, torque split, suspension. and more. Rock Mode shifts to an extra-low gear ratio and uses a 50/50 torque split. Selec-Speed Control holds a set speed for a controlled descent. Baja Mode reduces shift times, allows moderate oversteer, and sets suspension on full damping.
